How Well Does Your Trade Show Booth Represent You?

First impressions are important. Does your trade show or expo booth put your best foot forward for new clients?

Trade Show Booth Displays

Trade shows and expos are a great way to get exposure. While trade shows are focused on specific types of industry, expos are frequently a mixture of businesses vying for the attention of visitors. Both require eye-catching booth design to stop your next client in their tracks!
Since foot traffic will vary from trade show to trade show, and especially between trade show versus expo, there are several booth design elements to consider. Using color, texture and shape, a professionally designed trade show booth stands out from the rest!

Since trade shows are industry focused, you need a booth that will stand out from the rest! Professional, polished, cohesive trade show booth design is a must. A well put together booth will show your clients you are detail oriented and trustworthy. A less cohesive booth may make you come across as a fly-by-night company that lacks direction. A good trade show booth will be comprehensive and in good condition. A great trade show booth with be comprehensive and well-designed with elements that flow together to encompass your space and exhibit your company's unique offerings. Sometimes it is easy to become stuck with basic black, a couple flyers, a sign with your logo and a dish of Tootsie Rolls to "draw 'em in". How many times have you finished setting up and looked around to see a couple booths that just "WOW" you? If you have not been able to put a finger on what they are doing different to create this effect, there is a good chance they have a designer in their corner. A professionally designed trade show booth will leave your competitors and, more importantly, your clients "WOW"ed!

Expos require the same level of cohesive design, but require your company to stand out for different reasons. It is easy to lure customers in when you have food samples or flashy toys, but what if you are offering a service that you cannot demonstrate or is less-than-glamorous? Professional expo booth design is more than just graphics. Booth design should include flow and interactive elements. Appealing design is still important, but creating an immersive booth that will interest expo goers from all walks is key. At an Expo, visitors often do not have anything specific in mind so it is your booth's job to draw them in and show them why they need you! Selfie frames, like the dandelion we created for Custom Lawn Care , are fun and give your potential customer a way to remember you beyond the average business card. Creating an experience will help your booth stand out regardless of what your are promoting!

Are you ready to take your trade show/expo presence to the next level? What does your current booth say about your company? Contact Behind Your Design today and let us work with you to create a booth experience that puts your best foot forward and is truly rememberable!

Let’s be honest—when’s the last time you actually looked at the “Meet the Team” section on your website? Not skimmed it. Not clicked past it. I mean really looked. If it’s been a few years, there’s a good chance that what’s up there doesn’t match the reality of your team today. Maybe Susan grew out her bangs, or Greg hasn’t worn a tie since 2019. Maybe two of the smiling faces in your header moved on ages ago—and yet, there they are, frozen in pixels like ghosts of small business past. It's nothing to be ashamed of. We've all been there. But here's the thing: your team photos aren't just filler. They're first impressions. They're trust-builders. And if they’re out-of-date, awkward, or clearly cropped from someone's wedding—well, you’re not exactly rolling out the welcome mat. Let’s talk about why updating those photos is one of the simplest, most effective ways to level up how people see your business. That “Stock Photo” Energy? Yeah, People Can Tell You know what’s worse than old team photos? Generic ones. We’ve all seen those painfully stiff group shots—everyone lined up like they’re auditioning for a corporate crime drama. Or worse, the fake handshake photos. (Why are those still a thing?) Customers and clients can smell fake a mile away. In a time when people crave authenticity—real faces, real stories—those overly polished, clearly staged images just don’t cut it anymore. What works? Real teams, real smiles, real settings. We recently worked with Women’s Integrated Health Care , which has locations in Grand Blanc, Clarkston, Davison, Fenton, Marlette, and Sandusky. Their team was incredible—warm, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. Our photo shoot focused on capturing that exact energy. Not just headshots, but moments that reflect how they care for their patients and support each other. That authenticity? It jumps off the screen.
