Behind Your Design recently had the opportunity to once again partner with Medawar’s in Flint Township to create a VIP experience for their most valued customers. This is a relationship that means a great deal to us because it goes all the way back to 2009 when we first began working with their team. Over the years, our partnership has grown into one that includes trust, creativity, and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful experiences. For this event, our team handled everything from the initial invitation design and mailing, to the digital Evite and event signage, making sure every detail felt consistent and elevated from the very first touchpoint. The goal was to create something that felt special before guests even arrived. When guests stepped on site, they were welcomed into a fully transformed outdoor lounge experience inside a heated tent. The space was designed to feel warm, inviting, and luxurious , with a hand-rolled cigar station, passed hors d’oeuvres, live acoustic music, craft cocktails, comfortable lounge seating, an ice sculpture, and an interactive luxury vehicle display. It was all about creating an atmosphere where people could slow down, connect, and enjoy the evening. Inside, guests were able to browse and try on beautiful jewelry in a relaxed, social setting while enjoying cocktails and conversation. The experience was intentionally designed to feel personal rather than transactional, giving guests the space to truly appreciate the craftsmanship behind each piece. We also created curated gift bags for attendees that included thoughtful, high-end items like cigar cutters , a premium lighter , stainless steel mugs , jewelry boxes , and watch cases . Guests were entered into a drawing for a stunning diamond necklace, adding a fun moment of anticipation to the night. Inside the showroom, a coffee bar and dessert offerings from CRUST Bakery rounded out the experience. Looking back, this event is a reflection of a long-standing partnership with Medawar’s that we truly value. From their brand refresh in 2023 to years of event design and marketing support, we’re grateful to continue evolving alongside their team and helping bring their vision to life in memorable ways.

We were on site with Benecor to see firsthand how they handled a huge project — moving and installing a 20,000-gallon heated storage tank for a North Carolina paper mill. This wasn’t just any tank — it had to keep a temperature-sensitive chemical, GPAM, stable so the mill could run smoothly and maintain product quality. Benecor’s team made it look easy with: A durable, chemical-safe tank built to last Industrial heating pads and insulation to keep the liquid at the perfect temperature Precise controls to make sure everything stayed consistent, no matter the weather Watching the process up close was impressive. One of my favorite parts of what we do at Behind Your Design is taking an idea and turning it into something completely custom. For Pure Barre in Grand Blanc, we had the opportunity to design silky custom pajama pants for their instructors. We started with a custom pattern created in Adobe Illustrator, tailored specifically to reflect their brand. From there, we applied the design to a digital mockup and brought it to life in production. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a design go from a computer screen to a finished product and even better, seeing a team proudly wearing something made just for them. Some projects mean a little more than others. Cummings Property Management is one of those. We’ve been working with the Cummings team for nearly 15 years, and our relationship goes back even further. We’ve known the family since high school, so this rebrand wasn’t just another project. When they reached out about updating their logo and website, we knew how important it was to do it the right way. Cummings Property Management has been serving community associations since 1977. What started in the Flint and Genesee County area has grown into a company that now manages more than 130 communities across mid-Michigan. Over the years, the company has evolved, but their brand hadn’t quite caught up with who they are today. The goal of this refresh wasn’t to change who they are. It was to better reflect their experience, professionalism, and commitment to communication and education. We started with a clean, modern logo that still feels timeless, followed by a new website designed to be clear, easy to navigate, and useful for boards, homeowners, and prospective clients. The site supports their focus on education and communication while presenting a professional, approachable look. We’re really proud of how this project came together. The new logo and website feel like a true reflection of Cummings Property Management and position them well for what’s next. Even better, it’s always a win getting to work with people you’ve known and trusted for so long.

At Behind Your Design, we enjoy working with companies that are clear on who they are and ready to make sure their marketing reflects it. Benecor was a great example of this. Benecor is a national, family-owned systems integrator that works with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers across multiple industries. Their previous website leaned heavily toward an ecommerce experience, but it did not fully communicate what truly sets them apart: custom-engineered fueling and storage solutions designed around each customer’s operation. Our objective was to shift Benecor’s brand and website from a product-first approach to one that clearly highlights their engineering expertise, problem-solving process, and long-term partnerships.

Bringing Detroit’s Iconic Beverage Distributor to Life: Our Work with Eastown Distributors We recently had the pleasure of partnering with Eastown Distributors, a multi-generational, family-owned business with deep roots in Detroit’s history, on a brand-new website and photoshoot. Our goal was to showcase not only their products but also the legacy and reach of this iconic local company. The photoshoot started at sunrise in downtown Detroit, capturing some of the city’s most prominent locations that Eastown proudly delivers to, including Comerica Park, Fox Theatre, and Ford Field. These early-morning shots highlighted Eastown’s presence in the heart of the city and set the stage for a story that connects the brand to Detroit itself. We also ventured into everyday business operations, photographing merchandisers as they stocked shelves at grocery stores, and visiting independent retailers and neighborhood pubs to show Eastown products in action. This mix of iconic landmarks and real-world environments brought a sense of authenticity to the campaign, illustrating the company’s reach and dedication to its customers. On the digital side, the new website features a BrandFinder tool, making it easy for users to discover which brands Eastown distributes and where to find their favorite beverages. This user-friendly feature ensures that fans of Eastown’s products can quickly locate them, whether at local pubs, grocery stores, or specialty retailers. Working with Eastown was exciting because it allowed us to highlight both the people and the places that make the company such a vital part of Detroit’s beverage landscape. From family legacy to modern operations, this project celebrates everything that makes Eastown Distributors unique, and we’re proud to have brought their story to life online and through photography.

The Fenton High School Cheer Team is bringing extra spirit to the sidelines this season thanks to the support of John Wentworth Real Estate . Together, they’ve created exclusive Large Chain Medallions featuring the beloved F-Paw logo on one side and the John Wentworth Real Estate logo on the other. These one-of-a-kind medallions will make their debut at Meet the Team Night on Wednesday, August 20th at Fenton High School .
