From Ecommerce to Engineered Solutions: Our Work with Benecor

January 7, 2026

At Behind Your Design, we enjoy working with companies that are clear on who they are and ready to make sure their marketing reflects it. Benecor was a great example of this. Benecor is a national, family-owned systems integrator that works with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers across multiple industries. Their previous website leaned heavily toward an ecommerce experience, but it did not fully communicate what truly sets them apart: custom-engineered fueling and storage solutions designed around each customer’s operation. Our objective was to shift Benecor’s brand and website from a product-first approach to one that clearly highlights their engineering expertise, problem-solving process, and long-term partnerships.

Focusing the Message on Custom Engineering Solutions

At Benecor, the team does more than sell fueling equipment. They design and deliver engineered solutions tailored to each operation. As a family-owned company in an industry where many competitors are backed by private equity, this distinction is important and meaningful to their customers. Benecor specializes in Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) systems for Biodiesel, Renewable Diesel, and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). Each system is designed to meet specific environmental conditions, operational workflows, and industry regulations. From fleet fueling and agricultural operations to prime power generation and commercial sites, Benecor partners with customers to create solutions that are reliable, efficient, and built to last.

Transitioning the Website from Ecommerce to Engineering

The first step was restructuring Benecor’s website to better reflect how they actually work with clients.

Instead of focusing on individual products and online transactions, we:

  1. Repositioned the website around custom engineering and system integration
  2. Highlighted Benecor’s role as a trusted systems integrator
  3. Organized content by industries, applications, and use cases
  4. Incorporated messaging that reflects Benecor’s family-owned values and hands-on approach

This shift better supports Benecor’s consultative sales process and helps prospective customers understand the value of working with an experienced engineering partner.

Mini Photoshoot to Capture the Team and the Work

To support the updated messaging, we coordinated a mini photoshoot to capture authentic images of the Benecor team and their operations. These photos replaced generic stock imagery and helped show the people behind the solutions. The visuals reinforce Benecor’s family-owned culture and
add credibility for Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers evaluating potential partners.

Trade Show Booth Design for a National Audience

Benecor exhibits at national trade shows, so we also designed a custom trade show booth that aligned with their updated website and brand messaging. The booth was created to clearly communicate Benecor’s engineering capabilities, attract decision-makers from large-scale operations, and visually differentiate Benecor from competitors focused primarily on products or pricing.

Line Cards to Support Sales Conversations

To round out the project, we designed custom line cards that support both trade shows and everyday sales conversations.

These line cards clearly outline Benecor’s solutions, services, and capabilities in a format that is easy to reference during technical discussions. They also ensure consistent branding across all customer touchpoints.

The Result

By transitioning Benecor’s website away from an ecommerce model and toward custom engineering solutions, and supporting that shift with photography, trade show design, and sales materials, Benecor now has marketing that reflects how they truly operate.

The result is a clear, confident brand presence that positions Benecor as a trusted, family-owned engineering partner delivering custom fueling and AST solutions to demanding operations nationwide. If your business has evolved but your website and marketing no longer tell the full story, Behind Your Design can help realign your brand to reflect the value you deliver.

Why a simple watercolor book outperformed the usual promo items — and what that says about today’s audiences.

One of my favorite parts of what we do at Behind Your Design is taking an idea and turning it into something completely custom. For Pure Barre in Grand Blanc, we had the opportunity to design silky custom pajama pants for their instructors. We started with a custom pattern created in Adobe Illustrator, tailored specifically to reflect their brand. From there, we applied the design to a digital mockup and brought it to life in production. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a design go from a computer screen to a finished product and even better, seeing a team proudly wearing something made just for them. Custom pajama pants are just one example of the creative, outside-the-box branded apparel we can produce. If you’re looking for something different, memorable, and fully customized for your team or event, we’d love to design something just for you. Because custom hits different.

Canvas totes are having a moment. Thanks to Trader Joe's, what started as a simple grocery bagsare now widely recognized as stylish, everyday accessories that businesses are using to increase brand visibility. As Forbes notes, Trader Joe’s tote bags have become “an unlikely status symbol,” driven by scarcity, cultural cachet, and social signaling. Outside the U.S., owning one suggests access, travel, and a certain worldview, proving that “the object accrues value through scarcity.” That same psychology makes these bags especially effective as promotional products. Why we are paying attention and your brand should too: Canvas tote bags tap into perceived exclusivity Limited-feeling, small-format canvas totes come across as intentional and collectible, creating perceived value without a luxury price tag. Canvas totes act as social signals, not just swag A well-designed tote aligns your brand with style and lifestyle, not giveaways people forget at the bottom of a drawer. Their size encourages daily use Perfect for phones, wallets, keys, and small essentials, mini totes are easy to grab for errands, lunch runs, events, or travel. Canvas totes feel premium and practical Durable canvas, reinforced bases, sturdy handles, front stash pockets, and modern color options give these bags a retail-quality look. Umbrellas may not be the first item that comes to mind for promotions, but they deliver impressive value when it comes to visibility, usefulness, and longevity. More than just rain gear, umbrellas offer year-round protection and everyday practicality, making them a promotional item people actually keep and use. Why umbrellas work as promotional items: Year-round usefulness – Provide rain coverage and help block harmful UV rays, adding a health-conscious benefit. High brand visibility – Large canopies create prime space for logos and messaging that can be seen from a distance. Repeated exposure – Stored in cars, offices, and bags, umbrellas are reused often, extending brand impressions. Wide audience appeal – Practical for all ages and lifestyles, making them ideal for diverse audiences. Long lifespan – Quality umbrellas can last for years, continuing to promote your brand long after distribution. Strong return on investment – Durable, useful items outperform smaller or disposable promotional products. Whether you go traditional or try something a little more fun, umbrellas remain a smart way to keep your brand visible rain or shine.
