Adding a personalized touch to Joan's 70th Birthday

January 7, 2026

Behind Your Design was honored to collaborate with Gerych’s Flowers & Events on a stunning 70th birthday celebration that blended elevated design with deeply personal touches. Hosted at the chic and modern MAD NICE, this event was a beautiful example of how the right details can transform a milestone birthday into an unforgettable experience.

This celebration came together thanks to an incredible group of collaborators:

The Power of Personalized Details

Behind Your Design created several custom pieces for the event, each designed to feel intentional, meaningful, and seamlessly integrated into the overall aesthetic. These details played a big role in making the celebration feel one-of-a-kind.

Welcome Sign

The custom welcome sign set the tone the moment guests arrived. Designed to reflect both the event style and the guest of honor, it created a warm first impression and instantly made the celebration feel personal and thoughtfully curated.

Olive Oil Labels

Custom olive oil labels turned a simple favor into a lasting keepsake. Personalizing these bottles added a meaningful touch that guests could take home and enjoy long after the party ended. It’s these thoughtful, usable details that help an event live on beyond the night itself.

Match Books

The personalized match books added a subtle but stylish layer of branding to the event. They tied into the overall design while offering guests a nostalgic, functional takeaway.
Small accessories like these often become cherished mementos, especially when they’re beautifully designed.

Napkins

Custom napkins are one of the most visible elements at any event. These added polish to the tablescape and reinforced the cohesive look of the celebration. When everyday items are personalized, they elevate the entire guest experience.

Hand Towels

The personalized hand towels brought an unexpected touch of luxury and attention to detail. Often overlooked, these elements show guests that every aspect of the event was considered, adding to the overall feeling of care and hospitality.

Why the details matter

Personalizing small details is what transforms a gathering into a meaningful celebration. These elements tell a story, honor the guest of honor, and create moments that guests remember and talk about long after the event. Thoughtful customization doesn’t just enhance the look of an event—it deepens the emotional connection and makes milestone moments feel truly special.

We loved collaborating with this talented team to help bring such a memorable celebration to life and are proud to have played a part in honoring 70 years with style, intention, and heart.

At Behind Your Design, we enjoy working with companies that are clear on who they are and ready to make sure their marketing reflects it. Benecor was a great example of this. Benecor is a national, family-owned systems integrator that works with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers across multiple industries. Their previous website leaned heavily toward an ecommerce experience, but it did not fully communicate what truly sets them apart: custom-engineered fueling and storage solutions designed around each customer’s operation. Our objective was to shift Benecor’s brand and website from a product-first approach to one that clearly highlights their engineering expertise, problem-solving process, and long-term partnerships.

In July 2025, Behind Your Design had the pleasure of partnering with John P. O’Sullivan Distributing, Inc. for a full-day photoshoot celebrating some exciting milestones for the company. The shoot highlighted several key initiatives, including the Yuengling draft launch , upcoming bottles and cans launch on January 12, 2026 , and President/Owner Joanie O’Sullivan-Butler’s upcoming role as Chair of the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesaler’s Association . We also captured content for their management team and website.
