The Amazing Shake: Where Confidence Takes Center Stage

The Amazing Shake – a name that's become synonymous with confidence, communication, and fun! Born in Atlanta, this awesome event has spread its wings, landing right at St. John the Evangelist Catholic School in Fenton. And guess who got a front-row seat? Yep, yours truly!

Originating in Atlanta, the Amazing Shake was conceptualized by Ron Clark Academy, an acclaimed institution renowned for its progressive approach to education. The brainchild of Ron Clark, a renowned educator and bestselling author, this competition aims to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in diverse social and professional settings. Through a series of interactive challenges, participants learn the art of communication, etiquette, and confidence, preparing them for future success.

Friday, May 10th, was buzzing with excitement as students geared up for the challenge. My job? To witness the magic unfold and boy, did it deliver! Alongside my table mates Tara, Hannah, and Craig, I had the privilege of experiencing firsthand the transformation of these incredible young individuals.

Each student had to go through a series of 20 unique gauntlets. In my gauntlet, the students had task of delivering a heartfelt toast to their favorite aunt, me! It was a moment filled with warmth and nostalgia as I saw familiar faces like Mia Medawar, Ellia Ward, Anna Roche, and Sammy White, students whom I have known since birth, stepping up to the challenge with poise and grace.

There was a lot of laughter, there were lots of imaginary stories (and some true ones, of course!), and above all, there was an overwhelming sense of pride. These kids weren't just delivering speeches; they were owning the stage, showing off skills that'll serve them well wherever life takes them.

The Amazing Shake isn't just about winning, although there were cash prizes; it's about growth. It's about empowering kids with information in real life scenarios, and knowing you played a tiny part in their journey.

So here's to the Amazing Shake – a platform where confidence takes center stage and where every toast, handshake, and smile is a step towards a brighter future. Cheers to that!

Let’s be honest—when’s the last time you actually looked at the “Meet the Team” section on your website? Not skimmed it. Not clicked past it. I mean really looked. If it’s been a few years, there’s a good chance that what’s up there doesn’t match the reality of your team today. Maybe Susan grew out her bangs, or Greg hasn’t worn a tie since 2019. Maybe two of the smiling faces in your header moved on ages ago—and yet, there they are, frozen in pixels like ghosts of small business past. It's nothing to be ashamed of. We've all been there. But here's the thing: your team photos aren't just filler. They're first impressions. They're trust-builders. And if they’re out-of-date, awkward, or clearly cropped from someone's wedding—well, you’re not exactly rolling out the welcome mat. Let’s talk about why updating those photos is one of the simplest, most effective ways to level up how people see your business. That “Stock Photo” Energy? Yeah, People Can Tell You know what’s worse than old team photos? Generic ones. We’ve all seen those painfully stiff group shots—everyone lined up like they’re auditioning for a corporate crime drama. Or worse, the fake handshake photos. (Why are those still a thing?) Customers and clients can smell fake a mile away. In a time when people crave authenticity—real faces, real stories—those overly polished, clearly staged images just don’t cut it anymore. What works? Real teams, real smiles, real settings. We recently worked with Women’s Integrated Health Care , which has locations in Grand Blanc, Clarkston, Davison, Fenton, Marlette, and Sandusky. Their team was incredible—warm, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. Our photo shoot focused on capturing that exact energy. Not just headshots, but moments that reflect how they care for their patients and support each other. That authenticity? It jumps off the screen.
