Founded in 2019 by four friends and farmers, the Huffman’s and Ingrao’s put the H and I in the HI Hemp Company. With their diverse backgrounds, broad expertise and a great love for the hemp plant, a great partnership was formed.
At HI Hemp Company
their approach to farming CBD hemp is based on science and sustainability. The company
conducts research for the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) and focuses on how different insects affect CBD hemp, and the ways specific biocontrols can remediate them. Instead of spraying chemicals and pesticides on their plants, they interplant certain cover crops to not only build “living” soil, but also bring in predatory insects such as wasps and flies.
