What Do You Need for a Trade Show Booth?

December 9, 2024

From simple solutions to a full overhaul, we have options for every timeline and budget!

You've set aside the time. You've paid the fees. The next step is to make sure you have an eye-catching, memorable booth that shares your message and attracts your audience with a consistent and cohesive design reflecting your branding.

To be able to be memorable in the first place, people have to know who you are! Having elements that clearly match your brand and message that also work well together are a must. Tablecloths, displays, signage, and promotional material should all clearly represent your brand.  If you hand out a business card or flyers with a design that is not represented in your booth design, your future client won't make the connection. Or, if your old logo featured a bubbly design and was used on your rack cards but you've since updated to a more modern angular design that was used in your banner, backdrop or other display feature, your client may not be able to connect the rack card to the informative, friendly person they met at "that one booth". Cohesiveness is key.

You may see some booths that look really impressive with bright colors, lights, and tech like screens or music. It's great for catching eyes, but if it doesn't speak to their brand, you may walk away thinking, "Who were they and what the heck do they do?" As you work on developing your presence, remember to ask yourself that question as well. To attract your audience, be sure your booth clearly communicates what you have to offer. If someone can't figure it out in 5 seconds, they are likely to become disinterested. Backdrop and banner displays are great for communicating what your company has to offer and is likely the first place a visitor will look to seek this information.

Every piece of your booth should be able to be a sole representative of your brand. This includes business cards, rack cards, flyers, and giveaways. Trade shows give you a chance to connect with clients face to face. You'll work hard to build foundations for future business partnerships at a trade show, so make sure to include something in your booth that they walk away with that represents you and your brand so they can connect the experience later.

Finally, give people who visit your booth a way to interact with you, your brand, or your product. A hands-on element leaves a greater impression than a well-designed booth alone. Hands-on could mean product for your future client to test out, creative selfie cut-outs or stand-ups for them to snap a picture with (doubles as grassroots marketing when they share it on their social media accounts!), fun giveaways, or informational flyers that are immersive and easy to understand.

We're in the business of making your business stand out to your audience, so trust us to design your next show stopping trade show booth!

At Behind Your Design, we enjoy partnering with businesses that are passionate about what they do. That is exactly what we found while working with Superior Lawn & Landscape. From launching a new website to developing branded merchandise and planning a grand opening celebration, this project focused on supporting the continued growth of a company proud to serve its clients. A Website Designed to Reflect the Brand One of the first steps was creating a website that showcases the professionalism, experience, and range of services Superior Lawn & Landscape offers. The goal was to build a strong digital presence that clearly communicates the company’s capabilities while making it easy for potential clients to explore their services. Clean layouts, organized service pages, and strong visuals guide visitors through the site while highlighting the company’s landscaping expertise and portfolio. The website also incorporates content from clients and partners, allowing real voices and experiences to help tell the story of the brand.

When you're choosing a spring or summer promo item, the real question is simple: Will someone actually use this? If you live anywhere near lakes, boats, kayaks, camping, or summer travel, dry bags are a no-brainer. These aren’t just cute swag items. They’re so functional. You put your phone, wallet, keys, towel, inside, anything you don’t want getting wet. Roll the top down. Clip it shut. It seals everything in. If it falls in the water? Your stuff stays dry. That alone makes it valuable. And here’s what we love about them from a branding standpoint, not many companies are doing them yet. Everyone has water bottles and tote bags. A dry bag stands out. Even better? It actually lives with someone all summer long. In their kayak. On their boat. In their camper. At the beach. At tournaments. On vacation. That’s real visibility. If you're planning a golf outing, marina promotion, summer festival, or outdoor corporate event, this is the kind of promo piece people will thank you for and keep.
